The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) Global Programme to End Child Marriage works with many partners to advocate and support practical actions to end child marriage, and to promote gender equality and the empowerment of adolescent girls.

This technical note explores laws and their application and enforcement in relation to child marriage. By unpacking the issues, the technical note supports the Global Programme and its partners to gain a better understanding and be able to develop more nuanced approaches to child marriage and the law.
