The Consultant will be responsible for providing timely, highest quality legal advice and support for complex aspects of UNFPA’s procurement operations (amounting to approximately US$400 Million per annum and having a direct impact on the achievement of the UNFPA mandate). Procurement-related legal advice and support relates (inter alia) to development and humanitarian programmes, third party procurement, complex legal issues related to pharmaceuticals and medical devices, transportation, shipment, import-export issues, customs duties, licensing, general contracting issues, accountability, and privileges and immunities.

The Consultant will work with the Task Team on Common Premises and Facilities Services (TTCP+FS) lead for resources mobilization and the UN DCO Country Business Strategy Section (CBSS) on the analysis of funds requirement, business case development and governance mechanisms for the development of a capital fund.
