The Administrative Assistant position is located in the Office of the Executive Director, UNFPA, under the supervision of the Chief of Staff, Office of the Executive Director. The incumbent supports OED, including the Non-Core Funds Management Unit, with the main tasks and responsibilities: including managing correspondence; support to Executive/Operations Committees, Senior Management Group and relevant task teams organized by OED; provides background research and knowledge sharing; prepares documentation and travel arrangements for OED official missions; and backstops for the Personal Assistants to the Deputy Executive Directors.
Qualifications and experience
Completion of secondary level education with additional training in administration and management;
5 years of relevant experience in the administration; UN experience an asset;
The incumbent should have the ability to organize work independently with minimum supervision;
He/she also has to work productively in a multi-cultural team and has to be able to work under pressure, gain support from others and produce quality work;
Excellent communication and writing skills;
Fluency in English required; knowledge of another UN language is an asset; Candidate must pass the UN GGST/ASAT exam to be appointed.
Candidate must have a valid G-4 visa or USA Citizenship/Permanent Residency to be appointed to this position.
