The Position:
As the Chief, Career Development and Talent Mobility you will be responsible for Organizational Development as it relates to People Performance, Organizational Culture, Global Mobility, Career development and Organizational Learning. You will also function as the Global Lead on Talent Management in UNFPA.
You will report directly to the Director of DHR.

Job Purpose
The Chief, Career Development and Talent Mobility is responsible for developing, implementing and measuring the effectiveness of a coherent Talent Management Strategy to cultivate and retain the right talent to meet UNFPA’s organizational needs. The Chief coordinates the development and leads the team implementing innovative programs and interventions to enhance organizational performance and development, manage global mobility, ensure appropriate bench strength of potential leaders, foster transformational leadership, support career development, drive organizational learning and support culture change.

Qualifications and Experience
Education
Master’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, Training, Organizational Development or other relevant social sciences.
Knowledge and Experience
● Ten years of progressively relevant experience in HR management of which five years at multilateral/international level and five years of management responsibilities of similar size and complexity, preferably in a UN common system organization.
● Experience in a supervisory/managerial role is required;
● Leading edge knowledge and skills in talent, people performance and capacity building;
● Strong track record in organizational development interventions and change management;
● Strong analytical skills;
● Proven ability to lead projects from inception to successful conclusion;
● Strong professional expertise, knowledge and the gravitas to work with Senior Management.
● Excellent influencing skills and demonstrated ability to gain support of across organizational boundaries and with external stakeholders and counterparts;
● Proven skills in facilitation and presentation.
● Experience in Human Resource Information Systems and tools e.g. ERP is an asset
● Field experience in development context is an asset;
● Experience in the multilateral sector is an asset.
Languages
Fluency in English; knowledge of other official UN languages, preferably French and/or Spanish, is desirable.
