The incumbent works as part of the Online Communications Team and provides assistance with the conceptualization, translation, development and maintenance of UNFPAs online environment.
Website publishing and support
- Provide project management support to online communications officers for UNFPA websites.
- Prepare and publish content on UNFPA websites.
- Administer user and rights management in the content management system (CMS) Train content owners in the use of the CMS
- Provide help desk for content publishers on UNFPA.org at HQ level
- Provide support for the editorial calendar, verify that information online is regularly updated
Multilingual support
- Publish content on the French and Spanish language versions of unfpa.org Assist with translations of pages on unfpa.org
- Verify and assure consistency between the different language versions of unfpa.org
- Assist with translations of social media content
- Assist with translations of other communications assets such as press releases, statements or op-eds.
Digital governance support
- Organize Web Group meetings, The regular UNFPA meeting on website governance
- Keep members of the web group informed about meetings and decision
- Take notes during the Web Group and other meetings, provide draft reports
- Verify that UNFPA funded or branded online properties are compliant with the UNFPA websites and social media policies
- Ensure adherence of UNFPA websites to style- and branding guidelines
Contractual and procurement support
- Provide support for procurement activities in the area of Online Communications
- Assist in the recruitment of consultants.
- Other related duties assigned by the Online Communications Manager
- Budget and finance support
- Manage the budget of UNFPA's online communications activities Raise requisitions and issue payments to vendors Verify billings
- Manage other financial operations in Atlas
Required qualifications and experience
- Completion of secondary school education required. Undergraduate level courses in communications graphic design, computer studies, marketing, and/or web development desirable.
- 5 years administrative support experience, preferably in a communications function Understanding of communication principles and web content management systems.
- Basic knowledge of photo editing and graphic design software.
- Fluency in written and spoken English, knowledge of another UN language desirable
- Knowledge of the UN system is an asset.
- Candidates applying for this consultancy must have a currently valid G-4 visa (granted on the duty station being USA) or currently have USA Permanent Residency or USA Citizenship to be eligible for this consultancy.
