Job Purpose
Objective of the consultancy mission is to provide technical support to the national consultant team engaged in the preparation and producing a quality analytical 2020 State of Syrian Population Report.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
The International consultant will provide the following tasks:
- Provide technical assistance to the team of national experts to conduct the work of the Status of Syria Population report including the report outline, methodology, and timeframe.
- Provide tangible technical inputs about the suggested structure and main outline of the report as resulted out of the consultative workshop with the various national stakeholders towards reaching a consensus on the report framework.
- Assist in providing key themes for each chapter of the report.
- Assist in data analysis, when requested.
- Provided technical comments and guidance during the process of the preparation of the report.
- Oversee the work of the national experts and his team in regular basis.
- Contribute to the review of the first draft and second draft of the SSPR.
- Submit report on consultancy mission.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Master’s degree/PhD in statistics, demography, sociology, social sciences, or other relevant area required;
- Expertise in demography, economics and relevant social science Experience in research, quantitative analysis, policy analysis
- Minimum 10 years’ relevant work experience in research design.
- Excellent writing analytical skills
- Good facilitation skills
- Knowledgeable of the Syria context;
- Languages: English and Arabic
