Job Summary

Under the overall supervision of UNFPA Representative and direct supervision of the Assistant Representative, the Reproductive Health Commodity Security Coordinator (RHCS Coordinator). S/he will support UNFPA, and the Country at large, to ensure that there are no stock-outs of RH commodities at Service Delivery Points (SDPs), in line with UNFPA’s global goals of ‘Zero Unmet Need of Family Planning’. S/he will ensure support in the planning, procurement, storage and distribution reproductive health - including HIV/AIDS – commodities. S/he will also support strengthening of the existing systems and procedures for quantification, forecasting, procurement, storage, and distribution of RH commodities to the last mile in both development and humanitarian settings. The RHCS Coordinator will work with RH commodity stakeholders including: Pharmacy Department and Reproductive Health Division at the Ministry of Health, National Drug Authority (NDA), National Medical Stores (NMS), Joint Medical Stores (JMS), Uganda Health Marketing Group (UHMG), Uganda Family Planning Consortium (UFPC) and District Health Teams (DHTs) to ensure RH commodity security in the Country. 

Qualifications and Experience

Education: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy or other related field.
  • Post-graduation qualifications in public health, logistics management or other related fields is desirable.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • 3 to 5 years professional experience, preferably in logistics management and RHCS, in the public or private sector.
  • Computer skills: Proficiency in current office software applications.

Languages:

Fluency in oral and written English.
