Job Purpose:

The Deputy Chief is located in the Procurement Services Branch (PSB) of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in Copenhagen. The incumbent provides strategic advice and inputs to the Chief of PSB.

Qualifications and Experience

Education: 

  • Advanced university degree (or equivalent: i.e. CPA, ACCA, etc.) in Business Administration, Procurement, Economics, or related field is required. 

Knowledge and Experience:

  • 10 years of post-graduate progressively responsible experience in procurement operations and management in a multi-cultural environment of which 3 years are at the international level is required.
  • Experience in UN procurement and knowledge of UN operations is an advantage.
  • Thorough understanding of supply chain management is a strong advantage.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office and experience with ERP system is an advantage.
  • Experience in working with international procurement and supply chain is desirable.
  • Experience with pharmaceutical or medical procurement is an asset. Procurement accreditation (such as CIPS) is an asset.

Languages:

Fluency in English; knowledge of other official UN languages, preferably French and/or Spanish, is desirable.
