Position Summary:
The Finance Assistant delivers quality financial services to internal and external clients mastering all relevant rules, guidelines, processes and procedures. S/he takes a client-oriented results-focused approach to interpreting the rules, procedures and guidelines, providing support and guidance to the CO and UNFPA-supported projects.
Qualifications and Experience:
Education:
-Secondary education. First level university degree or equivalent professional qualifications desirable.
Knowledge and Experience:
-5 years of relevant experience in administration, finance or office management.
-Proficiency in current office software applications and corporate IT financial systems.
-Good knowledge and understanding of the payments process (ideally in public administration);
-Familarity with standard policies and procedures relating to payments process;
-Experience of using an ERP system (ideally PeopleSoft) and good MS Office skills;
-Good written and oral communications skills;
-Ability to organize effectively, work under pressure with attention to detail, precision and accuracy;
-At least CPA 3 Completion or Equivalent
Languages:
Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of Kiswahili and any other UN languages desirable.
