UNFPA is the UN Sexual and Reproductive Health Agency committed to delivering a world where every pregnancy is wanted, every childbirth is safe and every young person’s potential is fulfilled.

In an effort to advance and amplify its work and partnership in the East and Southern Africa Region (ESA) in the context of the UN Decade of Action towards the SDGs, the UNFPA Regional Office ESA (ESARO) is looking to engage the services of a Regional Speechwriter.

If you are strong in communicating to a diverse audience, developing a wide range of communication and advocacy materials including speeches, statements, talking points, op-eds, blog posts, podcast materials, and other social media content, this consultancy will suit you.

The Speechwriter must have an excellent understanding of the geopolitics of the East and Southern Africa region and will be required to translate complex technical and policy material into clear, understandable language that is accessible to a broad audience and accurately reflects the region’s vision, ideas and the position of UNFPA.

This is a fast-paced full-time assignment for 3 months from 1 October 2020 to 31 December 2020.

The assignment may include field mission travel within South Africa and to countries in the region as required by the Regional Director.
