The UNFPA Learning Associate enables the delivery of UNFPA learning and training activities according to set standards and by utilizing common, effective technologies, processes, and infrastructure solutions at best value for money.  The job achieves this through setting up, maintaining, and constantly improving learning and training delivery solutions and processes. This includes proactive market scanning for new solution opportunities, measurements of performance indicators, as well as monitoring and reporting of ongoing activities, including budget expenditures. Also, the job will require direct support and administration to individual learning or training activities, or - as feasible - the empowerment and support to Learning Champions or other personnel and external suppliers, who manage and support learning and training delivery.  The Learning Associate works under the direct supervision by the Learning Specialist, under technical guidance from the Training Coordinator, and in collaboration with the other members of the Talent Branch.

This job will imply working with the following core technology solutions:

  • Learning Management System (Peoplesoft ELM, later Oracle Taleo Learn)
  • Financial Management System (Peoplesoft Financials)
  • Intranet (Google Suite including Google Sites and Classroom, UNFPA Intranet)
  • Survey system (Survey Monkey)
  • Virtual classroom solution (Moodle)
  • Online training solution (GoToTraining)
  • Online course providers (Skillsoft, Mindtools)
  • Massive Open Online Courses (Coursera, EdX etc.)
  • Custom e-learning courses (e.g. created internally with Articulate Storyline or externally by long-term suppliers)
  • Training video solutions (Panopto, video production)
  • Secondary education, ideally with specialization in education and training.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 6 years of experience in education, training, HR, technology, or administrative experience (in this order of priority) is required.
  • Experience in the delivery of services to customers.
  • Good people skills, especially the mindfulness to achieve positive collaboration with colleagues and other stakeholders.
  • Creativity and experience with finding innovative solutions to service delivery challenges.
  • Good, broad IT and data skills with basic knowledge of organizational database and enterprise resource management systems, especially learning management systems and related technologies with mobile access.
  • Experience in the use of Microsoft and Google Suite applications, ideally also Articulate Storyline.
  • Experience with the design of engaging intranet sites.
  • Fluence in English is required.  Working knowledge of another official UN language is desirable.
