Job Summary
The Monitoring and Evaluation Analyst is a Temporary Appointment post based in Damascus, located in the Programme and Operations Support unit, reports to the UNFPA Assistant Representative and in matrix arrangement to the Communications and Reporting Specialist. S/He is part of an interdisciplinary team, which provides integrated operational and programme and technical support within a systems strengthening approach fundamental to UNFPA’s overall strategy in Syria, and will work closely with CO Management.
Job Purpose:
The Monitoring and Evaluation Analyst is accountable for the accomplishment of the stated key end-results of the country programme, by providing professional expertise and assistance in information/data collection, statistics and data analysis, monitoring & evaluation (M&E). S/he will collect, process and analyse data from information management and will provide inputs for the preparation of reports and communication materials. The incumbent also implements training programmes on data collection, and undertakes monitoring, evaluation and research capacity building.
Education:
- Master’s Degree or Bachelor Degree in economics, public health, demography and/or other related applied research or Social Science field;
- Recognized post graduate certification, studies or an accreditation in monitoring and evaluation is desirable.
Knowledge and Experience:
- In case of Master’s Degree -- no relevant experience is required;
- In case of Bachelor Degree -- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in programme and/or project monitoring and evaluation in the public or private sector.
Experience with UN M&E systems and tools is an asset:
- Substantive knowledge and practical experience in population, reproductive health, GBV and/or youth programming is desirable;
- Strong research and analytical skills;
- Field experience is an asset;
- Proficiency in MS Office packages including database management.
