The post is located in the Media and Communications Branch (MCB), Division of Communications and Strategic Partnerships (DCS) and reports to the Senior Editorial Advisor.

Job Purpose:
A strong visual storyteller, the multimedia specialist will be a highly creative individual with vision, project management and hands-on video production skills. A key objective will be to create engaging multimedia content that touches hearts and minds and helps build UNFPA’s brand visibility and relevance with new audiences and the general public. Seeking a highly creative, well-rounded individual who can generate great ideas and follow them through to completion, often on restricted budgets. Must be a team player who will contribute to broader communications goals and projects.

Qualifications and Experience
Education:
Advanced university degree is required in Communications, Journalism, Public Information, Public Relations, Marketing/Branding and Social Sciences or a related field(s).
Knowledge and Experience:
● 7 years of progressively responsible relevant professional experience at national and international level.
● Proven ability to create effective, engaging communications products and campaigns to promote an organization like UNFPA to a general audience
● Proven track record in video and animation production, from concept to final product. Ability to shoot and edit.
● Visual communication skills that extend beyond video to other communications products (e.g design, animation, infographics, exhibitions,..)
● Strong written and verbal communications skills in English.
● Knowledge of content creation and digital marketing, of public relations tools and techniques.
● Strong project management skills.
● Self-starter, proactive, passion for the issues. Team leader and team builder.
Desirable:
● Experience in direct advertising/marketing, public relations, public information, and digital marketing experience would be a clear advantage.
● Knowledge of social media best practices, optimizing content for social and driving online engagement
● Experience dealing with issues such as gender equality, family planning, maternal health, gender based violence
Languages
Fluency in English required, and knowledge of another official UN language is an asset.
