Job Summary
The Communications Associate position is located in Lima, Peru Office. Under direct supervision of the Representative, the Communications Associate provides significant input into planning and implementing the Country Office’s advocacy/communication efforts.
The Communications Associate applies established systems and procedures and assists in the documentation of substantive knowledge by compiling, synthesizing and analyzing information relevant to population dynamics, reproductive health and gender issues in the context of the country advocacy/communication efforts. S/he is instrumental in facilitating communication and advocacy programme activities, using and developing appropriate mechanisms and systems and ensuring compliance with established procedures.

Qualifications and Experience
Education:
Bachelor degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or relevant field is required.
Knowledge and Experience:
- At least 5 years of professional experience at national or international level in Communications, or advocacy including media relations.
- Experience in the use of social media.
- Outstanding oral and written communications and editing skills, with proven ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Experience working in development agency is an asset.
- Experience in media relations is an asset.
- Familiarity with development issues, sexual and reproductive health and gender issues is an asset.
- Experience in using media equipment, photography and software related to audiovisual and/or graphic design will be an asset.
Languages
Fluency in oral and written English and Spanish is required.
