The Position:
The Finance Assistant is responsible for implementing the organizational financial rules and regulations in the UNFPA Country Office in Bangladesh. You will deliver quality financial services in adherence to relevant policies and standards established by the Headquarters (HQs) and apply finance related guidelines, processes and procedures to the UNFPA Country Office (CO) activities.
You will report directly to the Finance Analyst.

Job Purpose:
In the UNFPA Country Office in Bangladesh and in the context of the implementation of the 9th UNFPA Country Programme, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth provision of critical financial services to the UNFPA Bangladesh Country Office staff as well as national counterparts. You will build close relationships with CO programme and operations teams, Regional and HQs based Finance Specialists, national counterparts, implementing partners as well as the UN agencies for efficient and effective delivery of quality finance services.
You will provide quality support to ensure accurate and reliable financial data and information are available and reported in a timely manner with required quality checks, in line with UNFPA guidelines and procedures.
Qualifications and Experience
Education:
Completed secondary level education required. Specialized certification in Accounting or Finance an asset; First level university degree in Finance/Accounting or Commerce preferred.
Knowledge and Experience:
• Five years of relevant experience in administration, finance or office management.
• Proficiency in current office software applications and corporate technology based financial systems.
• Good knowledge of ERP systems, preferably Peoplesoft (ATLAS) highly desirable.
• Working in team
• Time management and multi-tasking ability.
Languages:
Fluency in English and Bangla is required. Working knowledge of another UN language an asset.
