The Position:
The Finance Associate delivers effective financial advice and services to internal and external clients, providing finance related guidance to both Country Office (CO) and UNFPA supported projects.
The Finance Associate position is located in Bhutan Country Office (CO) and reports to the UNFPA Assistant Resident Representative.

Job Purpose:
Under the overall guidance of the UNFPA Assistant Resident Representative the Finance Associate will ensure the effective functioning of financial operations and systems in support of the programme and office management. S/he will work closely with programmes and project staff providing financial monitoring and analysis of projects and advising managers on expenditure trends and implementation rates. S/he ensures effective and efficient functioning of financial operations and systems.
S/he delivers quality services in Financial Management to internal and external clients mastering all relevant rules, guidelines, processes and procedures. S/he takes a client-oriented results-focused approach to interpreting the rules, procedures and guidelines in service of the Country Programme, providing support and guidance to colleagues in Bhutan. Finance Associate is expected to maintain collaborative relationships with all technical staff (Programme Officers and project staff) as well as government counterparts.

Qualifications and Experience
Education:
Completed Secondary Level Education required. First level university degree in Finance, Business, Public Administration or similar discipline desirable.
Knowledge and Experience:
Six years of relevant experience in administration, finance or office management.
Proficiency in current office software applications, web-based management and ERP financial systems.
Languages:
Full proficiency in English (including excellent writing and communication skills), fluency in the local dialects can be an added asset..
