Position summary:
The position of Media and Communications Specialist is located in the Afghanistan Country Office. The position reports directly to the Representative.
The Media and Communication Specialist designs, updates, coordinates, implements and monitors the communication strategy for the country programme. The position supervises the Digital Media and Communications Analyst.

Requirements:
Qualifications and Experience
Education:
• Advanced university degree in mass communications, public relations or journalism or other related field.
Knowledge and Experience:
• At least 5 years of experience in Communications;
• Ability to develop approaches and materials to be shared with partners and donors to help emphasize the importance of Afghanistan CO programmatic focus areas;
• Demonstrated experience implementing visibility communications or media projects;
• Excellent writing and editing skills, with strong analytical and research skills required;
• Excellent knowledge of web production, social media and multimedia tools;
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English Languages:
• Fluency in English and local languages (Dari and Pashto) is required.
