The position:
The National Programme Officer (NPO) -Gender is located in UNFPA Bangladesh Country Office (CO) and reports to the Chief- Gender.

Requirements:
Qualifications and Experience
Education:
Advanced degree in gender studies, development studies, sociology, social welfare, international affairs, law and/or other related social science field.
Knowledge and Experience:
2+ years of professional experience preferably in programme/project management in public or private sector.
Practical experience in gender programming with strong programme administration and management background.
Proven familiarity with UNFPA’s agenda and mandate is an asset.
Solid knowledge and understanding of the socio-cultural and economic underpinnings of gender equality and women’s empowerment, particularly where it relates to gender-based violence and gender mainstreaming.
Excellent understanding of human rights-based approach and results-based management.
Proficient in computer applications (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint)
Strong communication and writing skills in English and Bangla.
Initiative, strong conceptual and analytical abilities, sound judgment, liaison skills, negotiation skills, administrative and management skills, organizational skills, and interpersonal skills.
Languages:
Fluency in English; knowledge of other official UN languages is preferable
