The Position

Under the guidance of the Assistant Representative, the Operations Manager provides leadership and advice on all aspects of Country Office (CO) management and operations, finance, administration, procurement and information technology as well as human resources. His/her role is to ensure a fully accountable, smoothly functioning, well managed and results oriented CO and to facilitate program implementation and delivery by providing for the operational needs of programs and projects.

The Operations Manager actively participates in interagency coordination to ensure that UNFPA’s needs are in common systems and services. He/she must foster a collaborative, client oriented approach towards the program team in the Country Office and the UN Community, and support effective communication and co-operation between headquarters and CO. The Operations Manager leads the operations team and closely collaborates with the program staff in the CO.

Qualifications and Experience

Academic requirements:

Masters degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance, Information Technology, Economics or related field

Experience:

5 to 8 years of professional experience preferably in administration, finance or office management in the public or private sector.

Language:

Fluency in oral and written English. 

Computer Skills:

Proficiency in current office software applications and corporate IT systems.
