Job Summary

Under the overall guidance and supervision of the Assistant Representative the National Programme Analyst (NPA) will be responsible for providing technical assistance and management support for the country programme’s gender and overall communication portfolio. The NPA will interface with other NPOs in defining, coordinating and providing technical inputs in the area of gender and rights as well as communication.

Job Purpose

The Programme Analyst on Gender and Communication assists in the design, planning and management of UNFPA’s country programme by analyzing relevant political, social and economic trends and providing inputs to project formulation and evaluation, joint programming initiatives and national development frameworks. The Programme Analyst assists with programme/ project implementation by using and developing appropriate mechanisms and systems and ensuring compliance with established procedures, as well as by monitoring results achieved during implementation.

Education:

Advanced degree in Gender Studies, Journalism, International Development, Communication, or related Social Sciences, with good technical knowledge of gender issues.

Knowledge and Experience:

Prior experience in programme/project design and management with regard to gender related issues as well as communication and advocacy on social issues would be desirable.

Languages:

Fluency in written and oral English and Russian. Knowledge of Kyrgyz language is an asset
