The Position:
The Programme Analyst/GBV is located in Country Offices (CO). Under the supervision of the Deputy Representative, and working closely with the Gender Specialist, the GBV Analyst substantively contributes to the effective management of UNFPA activities in the Spotlight programme . He/she analyzes and assesses relevant political, social and economic trends and provides substantive inputs to project formulation and evaluation, joint programming initiatives and national development frameworks. The GBV Analysts facilitates the delivery of UNFPA’s spotlight components by monitoring results achieved in the implementation. He/she ensures and guides the appropriate application of systems and procedures and develops enhancements if necessary.
The NPO facilitates the work of consultants, and experts and establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with counterparts in government, other UN agencies, multi-lateral and bi-lateral donor agencies and civil society to address emerging issues. The GBV Analyst is a substantive contributor to the programme team in the Country Office.

Job Purpose:
GBV technical analyst shall provide technical and administrative support to the implementation of UNFPA lead spotlight activities. UNFPA has partnerships with the various government key Ministries and/or departments, parastatals, UN agencies and local NGOs. The Program Analyst substantively contributes to effective management of UNFPA led spotlight activities in collaboration with the core program team and six National UNVs in the six districts.
Qualifications and Experience
Education:
- Master’s degree in Gender and Development; Development Studies, Public health, and/or other related social science field.
Knowledge and Experience:
- 2 years’ professional experience preferably in programme/project management in the public or private sector.
Languages:
- Fluency in oral and written English
Computer Skills:
- Proficiency in current office software applications.
