Job Summary

Under the overall guidance of  the Deputy Representative and with direct supervision of the Program Specialist  for HIV prevention/Adolescent and Youth Development, s/he is responsible for supporting  the Adolescent and Youth  Reproductive Health (AYRH) programme and  advocating for Sexual Reproductive Health & Rights (SRHR) and HIV linkages, with the overall aim of supporting the country in addressing barriers to efficient and effective linkages between HIV and Adolescent & Youth policies and services, increased access to and use of a broad range of quality integrated AYRH services including in humanitarian settings, as well as ensuring the inclusion of education, legal and gender dimensions in HIV prevention. S/he plays proactive role in the Joint UN Programme of support for HIV in the country.

Qualifications and Experience

Education: 

MSc/MA in Health, public health, Social sciences, behavioural sciences, social work, & social psychology.  Public Health qualification is preferred.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years progressive experience in the area of HIV/AIDS and Adolescent and Youth Development at technical level. 
  • Field experience is highly recommended. Previous UN/NGO experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency in current office software applications.

Languages:

Proficiency in English and working knowledge of any other UN language is an advantage.
