Job Summary
The Position:
The position is located at the UNFPA Field Operations Unit in Homs.The Programme assistant maintains collaborative relationships with IP’s, partners to address emerging issues. S/he effectively influences counterparts from diverse backgrounds to contribute to achieving UNFPA’s mandate and to be to advocate for it among all partners.
Internal contacts include the hub office team, the CO’s programme technical team and Programme Operations and Support (POS) unit.External contacts include other UN agencies in the hub. S/he supports the flow of information between the CO and the hub .
You will report directly to the Head of Field Operations unit in Homs.

Job Purpose:
the Programme Associate supports program activities of implementing partners (IPs) for effective planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting; ensures submission of quarterly progress reports and final reports prepared by IPs. Maintains quality assurance of the reports to include the main achievements of different projects, key challenges, lessons learnt and recommendations; and follow up on the submission of quarterly financial reporting by IPs or FACE forms and on the GPS submission of reports and AWPs by IPs.
Education:
Minimum High School Diploma; University Degree is preferable;
Knowledge and experience:
Minimum Six years of working experience in programe / project managment , including with the UN system .experience with UNFPA programme and administrative systems is an asset.expericne in humanitarian esponce. ,
Excellent and proven experience in dealing with local government challenges;
Experience in preparing capacity building trainings;
Proficient in MS Word and MS Excel spreadsheet; Knowledge of MS Project an asset;
Languages:
Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English and Arabic is required.
