Job Summary
The Population & Development (P&D)/Youth Specialist is located in the UNFPA office in Mogadishu and reports to the Head of Mogadishu Office.
You will have a technical reporting line to the Head of the Population & Development team.

Job Purpose:
In a global organisation, where many of our people are based in challenging environments, you will play a vital role in ensuring the effective management of UNFPA activities in the areas of population and development, youth, reproductive health and gender. You will oversee project formulation, implementation and evaluation, joint programming initiatives and national development frameworks. You will collaborate with the CO’s other programme team members as well as with operations and administrative support staff.
Education:
Advanced university degree in population, demography, development, health epidemiology and/or other related social sciences.
Knowledge and Experience:
Minimum five years of relevant professional experience in the field of population activities, with extended experience in programme / project management.
Languages:
Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of written and spoken Somali language is essential.
