The position:

Under overall guidance and supervision of the Assistant Representative, the Planning and Monitoring Analyst substantively contributes to the effective planning, quality assurance, reporting and monitoring; support evidence generation and knowledge management related to UNFPA activities in the areas of population and development, reproductive health, gender, youth and humanitarian. S/he contributes to monitoring and evaluation activities of the UNDAF/One-UN Program. S/he analyses and assesses relevant political, social and economic trends, monitors programme and reputational risks, and provides substantive inputs to project results framework formulation, quality assurance of plans and reports and programming initiatives and other national development frameworks.

Requirements:

Qualifications and Experience

Education: 

Advanced degree in health, population, demography and/or other related social science discipline.

Knowledge and Experience:

One year professional experience in the field of development and population activities, with experience in programme/ project management is desirable

Practical experience in design, monitoring and evaluation of development projects

Experience using office software packages and web-based management systems.

Languages: 

Fluency in English; knowledge of local languages (Dari, Pashto) is required.
