The Position:

The Programme Analyst, RHCSC is located at the UNFPA Papua New Guinea Country Office (CO) and reports to the International Programme Specialist (FP/MH/RHCS) particularly to plan and deliver the supplies programme and support other maternal health initiatives.  Due to the linkages of supplies in humanitarian settings you will also support the International Programme Coordinator.

You will report directly to the UNFPA Deputy Representative

Job Purpose:

You will be responsible to support the substantive contribution to the strategic planning of meeting RH commodity needs and assist the country of PNG to move towards more predictable, planned and sustainable nationally driven approaches to securing essential supplies and ensuring their use. UNFPA works closely with the PNG National Department of Health (NDOH) to support Reproductive Health Commodity Security (RHCS) and Comprehensive Condom Programming (CCP) activities; to this end you will also expected to build staff capacity to manage the procurement and logistics of RH commodities in the National Department of Health.

Requirements:

Qualifications and Experience

Education: 

Advanced degree in health, pharmacy, business administration or other related social science field.

Knowledge and Experience:

Minimum of two years of progressively responsible professional experience in the development sector with practical experience in programme management, providing capacity development and policy support.

Prior working experience in the area of Reproductive Health Commodity Supply Chain management is essential.

A clear understanding about the existing laws, policies, strategies and action plans in relation to RHCSC.

Experience using office software packages and web-based management systems.

Previous work experience with the UN/UNFPA is an asset.

Languages:

Fluency in English; knowledge of other official UN languages, preferably French and/or Spanish, is desirable.
