Organizational Setting
The post is located in the Post 2015 Branch in the Division for Governance and Multilateral Affairs (DGM) and reports to the Team Leader, Post 2015 Branch. S/He provides substantive support to the Technical Adviser, in leading the coordination of ICPD Beyond 2014 follow up and review, and its integration with the follow up and review of the 2030 Agenda at national regional and global levels for UNFPA.
 
The incumbent  works with UN System agencies, UNFPA Divisions, Regional Offices, Liason Offices, and Country Offices, Member States, external partners and civil society in this regard. S/He is also supports other UNFPA units in developing policies and strategies for the integration of the ICPD beyond 2014 into all relevant instruments, processes, and structures.
 
Job Purpose
The incumbent  works with UN System agencies, UNFPA governance structure, UNFPA Divisions, Regional Offices, Liason Offices, and Country Offices, Member States, civil society, the academia and other external partners to ensure and provide strategic analyses and technical backstopping, including quality assurance on all technical inputs and products related to the ICPD Beyond 2014 and its integration into the follow up and review of the 2030 Agenda at the national, regional and global levels.
 
S/He provides technical inputs on all proposals related to the ICPD Beyond 2014 and its integration into the 2030 Agenda implementation, including intergovernmental and interagency processes.
 
S/He contributes to the work of the Division, in terms of providing support on coordination, policy, strategy and advocacy  related to the implementation, follow up and review of the ICPD beyond 2014 and its integration with the SDG implementation and Agenda 2030 follow up and review.
 
In collaboration with the technical adviser, s/he ensures strategic analyses and technical backstopping for UNFPA to successfully integrate the ICPD beyond 2014 in all relevant outcomes and processes for the implementation of the ICPD beyond 2014 at national, regional and global levels.
 
S/He is substantively supports coordination with ROs, LOs and COs to ensure ICPD follow up and review is coherent with SDG follow up and review.

Qualifications and experience
 
Education
  • Advanced University Degree in public health, medicine, sociology, demography, economics, international development, or other related field.
Knowledge and Experience
  • Seven years  of professional experience (or its equivalent) in health, population health, SRH, 3 years of  which includes increasingly responsible professional experience in the international development field. 
  • Technical knowledge and experience with ICPD beyond 2014, UNFPA strategies, Intergovernmental negotiations, and The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development is highly desirable.
  • Strong technical knowledge in sexual and reproductive health or public health or population and development. 
  • Strong coordination skills.
Languages
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is required for this position.
