The Position

Programme Specialist SRHR/GBV in the Uganda Country Office will work under the overall supervision of the Representative and the direct supervision of the Programme Delivery and Coordination Specialist. The incumbent will be based in Kampala, with regular travel to the field to provide support to the decentralized offices.
UNFPA intends to engage the support of a Programme Specialist SRHR/GBV in the Uganda Country Office in Kampala. The Specialist will provide high quality technical inputs and support for programme development, implementation, knowledge management and learning for policy advocacy at both national and field levels.

Qualifications and Experience

Education:  

  • Advanced university degree in social sciences, public/community health, gender, development or related field. 
  • Training in SRHR and GBV issues and their application in humanitarian and development settings will be an asset.

Knowledge and Experience: 

  • At least five years of experience in SRH/FP programming.
  • Experience working with the Ministry of Health and Local Government (districts) is desirable.
  • Excellent computer/information systems skills.
  • Understanding of the UN system in general, and especially UNFPA’s mandate, policies, operations and development topics within the Ugandan setting is an added advantage.

Fluency in oral and written English
