Job Summary

The Position:

The Programme Analyst - SRH is responsible for providing technical and programmatic inputs to the planning, conceptualization, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of sexual and reproductive health (SRH), components of the country programme.

You will maintain collaborative relationships with the government line ministries and departments, civil society constituents, multi-lateral and bilateral donor agencies, the United Nations funds, programmes and specialized agencies and other development organizations.

You will report directly to the Programme Coordinator.

Job Purpose:

You will ensure the effective management and coordination of UNFPA projects and activities in the area of Sexual Reproductive Health. You will work on project formulation, implementation and evaluation, joint programming initiatives and national development frameworks. You will aim at strengthening and reinforcing UNFPA's lead role in SRH through provision of high quality technical assistance for humanitarians and national counterparts. You will ensure provision of the needed technical support and guidance towards promotion of integrated and quality Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn and Adolescent Health (RMNAH) into Humanitarian and national development agenda.

You will provide technical support to the national authorities, local authorities, local development partners and implementing partners to ensure optimal program implementation, effective use of resources, quality tracking of results, adequate coordination, advocacy for policy change and clear communication of UNFPA mandate, work and results in the region across humanitarian and development settings.

Education: 

University Degree in Public Health, Medicine, Gender Studies, related Social Sciences, or any other relevant field of study

 

Knowledge and Experience:

Minimum 2 years with a Master Degree or (4 Years with Bachelor degree) of experience in SRH and maternal health in humanitarian or development settings;

Demonstrated experience in programme/project planning design, follow up, monitoring and evaluation;

Substantive experience with programming and implementing Minimum Initial Service Package (MISP) for Reproductive Health (RH) implementation and RH Emergency Kits;

Strong results-based management skills;

Experience in a humanitarian or crisis context would be an asset

Knowledge and experience working with the United Nations system would be an advantage

 

Languages: 

Fluency in both written and spoken English and Arabic
