The Position:

The PA will be primary responsible in ensuring that administrative and financial matters/deliverables in line with the conduct of the study are provided in a client-oriented and results focused approach, while adhering to the procedures and guidelines of UNFPA.

You will maintain collaborative relationships with youth groups, government, non-government organizations, civil society, multi-lateral and bilateral donor agencies, co-United Nations agencies, programmes and specialized agencies and other development organizations.

You will report directly to the  National Programme Officer for Population and Development

Job Purpose:

The PA will be primarily responsible for  assisting the Programme Manager for Cohort in the over-all day to day management of the implementation of the Longitudinal Cohort Study, especially on the financial and administrative requirement of the project;encoding and maintain the   the status of work plans in the UNFPA systems-based information system.  You will assist in the monitoring and sharing of reports on the work plans status using the said information system. You are also expected to assist in the preparation and monitoring of the project budget and ensures financial transactions are in accordance with UNFPA financial rules and procedures.

The PA will also assist in coordinating with different government and non-government partners in managing the work plans.

Requirements:

Qualifications and Experience

Education:  

Secondary Education with five (5) years of work experience or Bachelor’s degree with three (3) years of relevant work experience.

Knowledge and Experience:

Required years of work experience (as stipulated above) in administration, finance and project management

Experience in finance monitoring will be an advantage;

Proficiency in current office software applications and corporate IT systems;

Familiarity with UN policies and principles will be an advantage;

Strong analytical and strategic thinking and a commitment to results;

Ability to organize work effectively and to meet planned deadlines;

Demonstrated ability to work harmoniously with persons of different backgrounds in multicultural environment;

Must possess negotiations skills;

Experience working with government implementing partners; and

Familiarity with government planning processes and systems.

Languages:

Fluency in Filipino and English
