The position:
Under the direct supervision of the GBViE Specialist/GBViE Lead in Cox’s Bazar office , the Programme Assistant- Gender will ensure the secretariat support to the GBV in Emergency (GBViE) programme at Cox’s Bazar District with frequent travel to emergency affected districts as and when requires. S/he will work closely with the Gender Team in Dhaka, District Field Officer- Gender, GBViE Officer and UNFPA’s GBViE partners in Cox’s Bazar and will provide administrative support to implement UNFPA supported GBV programmes. S/he will prepare the necessary procurement requests guided by the GBViE Specialist. S/ he will also liaise with UNFPA Country Office Operations and Procurement to ensure timely submission of plans, complete required requisitions and do regular follow up of the procurement. S/he will assist the development of GBViE programmes annual work plans (AWPs) and will ensure they are uploaded into the system in a timely manner.
Requirements:
Qualifications and Experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Accounting, Finance, Development Studies, Sociology/Social Welfare, Women and Gender Studies or related field.
Knowledge and Experience:
· Minimum 5 years of experience in providing secretariat support to programmes
· Experience in the usage of computers and various Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software
· Proven experience in providing administrative and logistical support for travel, meetings, conferences and special events
· Experience in maintaining appropriate filing systems for all necessary documents (programme and financial), meeting minutes, participants lists etc.
· Experience in end use monitoring
· Knowledge on the situation of women and girls in Bangladesh
· Prior working experience in the area of gender issues, women and girls' empowerment and sexual and gender-based violence is an added value
· Prior working experience in emergency preparedness and response for natural disaster or man-made conflict is an added value
