Position Summary
The Programme Coordinator will be based in Zambezia. He/She works under the overall guidance of the UNFPA Assistant Representative and direct co-supervision of the National Programme Analyst in charge of ‘Action for Girls and Young Women’s Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights in Mozambique’ Programme and the National Programme Analyst in charge of the Promotion of Women and Girls’ Reproductive Health Rights through Prevention and Treatment of Obstetric Fistula. A close and effective collaboration and coordination with DPY (Youth Provincial Directorate), DPS (Health Provincial Directorate) and NGOs, as Implementing Partners (IPs) is expected during programme implementation.
Qualifications and Experience
Education:
Master’s degree in public health, social development and/or other related social science field is required.
Knowledge and Experience
- Health professional;
- At least 10 years of professional experience, preferably in managing programs/projects in the area of international development including gender, public health, preferably reproductive/maternal health;
- Experience in working with government institutions, NGOs and/or UN;
- Recognized expertise in providing technical advisory role;
- Strong ability to produce demonstrable results;
- Experience in the area of ASRH/youth and adolescent girls programming is considered an asset;
- Experience in the area of SRH programming and specifically obstetric fistula is considered an asset;
- Demonstrated ability to network with partners (governments, academics, civil society) and the development community for evidence-based advocacy, coordination and resource mobilization;
- Proven knowledge of project management, RBM and human rights based approach.
Computer skills:
- Computer skills (Microsoft Office applications).
Language skills:
- Fluency in Portuguese and in English spoken and written.
