Position Summary:

The Technical Specialist, Census post is located in Mozambique, Maputo, National Institute of Statistics (INE) Office and reports to the UNFPA Representative/Deputy Representative and to the President of INE.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Post-graduate qualification In statistics, economics or sociology, with specialization in demographic studies being desirable;
• 7 years of practical experience in the field of population data collection, especially Census implementation experience at national level;
• Strong experience in working with National Statistics Institutions.
• Considerable experience in planning and management of large-scale demographic surveys in developing countries preferably in Sub-Saharan Africa.
• Previous experience in project management and knowledge of UN/UNFPA procedures and procurement rules.
• Fluency in Portuguese or Spanish and English.
• Proficiency in current office software applications.
