The Position:
The Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH) Programme and Midwifery Specialist will be based in Cox’s Bazar. He/she reports to the SRH Team Leader in Cox’s Bazar.

Job Purpose:
Since August of 2017, a refugee influx of 750,000 people brought an already protracted refugee situation into a protracted crisis. UNFPA has deployed 130 national midwives and 3 UNV midwives to support government health facilities to provide SRH services. The purpose of this position is to oversee comprehensive sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services largely delivered by midwives for refugees and host community girls and women.

Qualifications and Experience
Education:
Advanced university degree in public health or other health related field with a background in midwifery, SRH related nursing, or obstetrics and gynecology.
Knowledge and Experience:
• Minimum of five years of midwifery experience, particularly implementing the comprehensive SRH services.
• Minimum two years of relevant experience in SRH programme development and management
• Demonstrated leadership and management experience within a multinational and multicultural environment.
• Technical knowledge of current developments on reproductive health related morbidity and mortality reduction.
• Ability to develop and coordinate SRH/midwifery programmes that target refugees, IDPs/returnees and their host communities.
• Strong expertise in capacity development.
• Knowledge and understanding of the health care in low resource settings, particularly in the areas of reproductive health.
• Exceptional interpersonal, communication, networking, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to express clearly and concisely ideas and concepts in written and oral forms.
• Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS word, Excel, etc.), experience in handling of web-based management systems.
Languages:
Fluency in English; knowledge of other official UN languages is preferable.
