
Accelerating Action: Strengthening alliances and addressing pushback against ending female genital mutilation
The 2024 Annual Report of the UNFPA–UNICEF Joint Programme on the elimination of female genital mutilation highlights intervention efforts and results across 18 countries, four regions and at global level. Amid rising pushback against FGM elimination, the Joint Programme and partners deepened alliances, expanded community engagement, and secured stronger policy commitments not to lose momentum in achieving the global promise of ending FGM by 2030.
