UNFPA's strategic priorities in its humanitarian response to the Yemen crisis include the following.
Reproductive Health
- Availability of life-saving reproductive health drugs, supplies and equipment to health facilities
- Mobile medical teams and clinics providing reproductive health services that include safe deliveries and are integrated with nutrition services for pregnant women and cholera prevention information
- Availability of birth spacing methods accessible to people in health facilities and mobile clinics
- Reproductive health kits available in medical structures including cholera treatment centres
- Availability of skilled health providers, particularly midwives at community level
- Establishment of a reproductive health information management system
- Coordinate reproductive health response through the RH Inter-Agency Working Group under the health cluster
Gender-based Violence Prevention and Response
- Provide medical supplies including post-rape treatment kits for survivors of gender-based violence
- Provide clinical management of rape and treatment of sexually transmitted infections
- Respond to gender-based violence through the provision of pyscho-social support, legal aid, access to safe houses and referrals to healthy and other service
- Distribute dignity kits, containing menstrual and personal hygiene items, including aquatablets and information on cholera prevention to vulnerable and displaced persons
- Engage men and boys to address gender-based violence at community level
- Strengthen gender-based violence Information and Management System
- Strengthen the community's awareness on issues related to gender-based violence services available, including cholera prevention and treatment
- Establish referral pathways, protocols and improving capacities and safe access to resources • Support services and livelihood opportunities for survivors of gender-based violence
- Lead coordination of gendr-based violence response
