In order to gain an understanding of the effectiveness, optimal circumstances, good practices and potential trends for strengthening SRH and HIV integrated services, the IAWG discusses issues, identifies gaps and shares results on research projects that the group members have undertaken.

The world has changed fundamentally since the historic commitments to the Millennium Development Goals and the 2001 Declaration of Commitment on HIV/AIDS were made. Prevailing political and economic orthodoxies have given way in the wake of the economic crisis. Emerging economic countries are challenging and setting global agendas.
