The first session of the Regional Conference on Population and Development in Latin America and the Caribbean, "Full integration of population dynamics into rights-based sustainable development with equality: key to the Cairo Programme of Action beyond 2014," was organized by ECLAC and the Government of Costa Rica. The first session was held in Montevideo, Uruguay, from 12 to15 August 2013, with the support of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
