The Resolution calls upon States and the international community to accelerate actions to end fistula and reiterates the need for urgent efforts and significantly increased investment to improve maternal health by addressing sexual and reproductive, maternal, newborn and child health.
The document further outlines key recommendations and actions, and calls for the development of a Global Road Map to End Fistula within a decade.
The United Nations Secretary-General report outlines efforts made by the international community at the global, regional and national levels to end obstetric fistula, and offers recommendations to intensify those efforts with a human rights-based approach.

These three midwifery case studies from Bangladesh, Ethiopia and South Sudan document the significant catalytic impact the Maternal Health Thematic Fund has had in comprehensively strengthening midwifery education, associations, regulations and policy in an integrated manner.
This has generated additional national and donor interest and commitment, thereby bringing financial stability and sustainability. It is also influencing national scale-up of midwifery programmes in several countries.
