Sexual harassment rampant on Sri Lanka's public transport system
A new study commissioned by UNFPA has found that 90 per cent of women in Sri Lanka have endured sexual harassment while taking public transport. Women explain that, despite underreporting of the issue, they are all too familiar with these abuses. UNFPA and the Government are working to raise awareness of the problem, and promoting a hotline women can call to report harassment. Read the full story here.
