The report notes that the decline in population size over the coming decades in Eastern Europe is certain. The remaining questions are how rapidly and by how much the population will contract. Due to a much younger age structure and current high fertility levels, demographic trends for Central Asia are expected to diverge from those in Eastern Europe.

"Partnering" shows how a global consensus is emerging on how to scale up successful programmes that involve men without diverting scarce resources from women's health. In fact, men are more and more taking ownership of mobilization and advocacy for the emergence of a more gender equitable young man.

This publication provides an analysis of responses to questions on culture and religion in the ICPD+10 survey conducted in 165 countries in 2004, ten years after Cairo. It examines the impacts of culture on programming in four key areas: gender equity and equality, reproductive health and rights, adolescent reproductive health, and HIV/AIDS, with the objective of detecting regional trends that could help target interventions at the programming level.
