UNFPA statement on the Nobel Peace Prize announcement
10 October 2014UNFPA, the United Nations Population Fund, warmly welcomes the award of the Nobel Peace Prize to Malala Yousafzai, which acknowledges Malala’s struggle to promote the rights of young girls, particularly to education. Malala’s convictions inspire young people all over the world, and her activism proves what young people can achieve once their potential is fulfilled.
UNFPA also congratulates Kailash Satyarthi for a well-deserved honour received for his long history in defending the rights of children.
