The Position:

The Donor Relations Analyst assists with programme/project implementation by using and developing appropriate mechanisms and systems and ensuring compliance with established resource mobilization procedures. S/he is responsible for mobilizing contributions for UNFPA’s programs, as well as coordinating technical and financial reporting to donors.

This post will report directly to the Country Representative.

Job Purpose:

The Donor Relations Analyst identifies opportunities for fundraising and maintains up to date mapping of donors (multilaterals, private sector, and private individuals), regularly updates the resource mobilization plan and maintains regular contacts with the donor and with a view to mobilize resources both for humanitarian, disaster preparedness, peace-building as well as the UNFPA regular programme. S/he also keeps track of required donor reports and updates the corporate system in place to monitor non-core funding.

Requirements:

Qualifications and Experience

Education: 

Advanced degree in business administration, marketing and/or other related field.

Knowledge and Experience:

Ability to analyze, trends, opportunities and challenges to fundraising

Experience in dealing with development assistance and donor relations, including a good track record in fundraising

Knowledge and experience in fundraising techniques

Experience with securing funding commitments from governments and private sector

Demonstrated capacity to source, develop and maintain excellent relationships with key partners

Proven ability to represent the organization with government representatives, private sector and alternative sources

Experience with private sector due diligence is an asset

Familiarity and direct experience in private sector fundraising platforms is an asset

Prior experience in the field of development and population activities would be desirable.

Languages:

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including fluency in English and national language.
