The Joint Programme on Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child, and Adolescent Health (RMNCAH) in Kenya brought together H6 partners WHO, UNFPA, UNICEF, UNAIDS and UN Women, in 10 counties with a high burden of maternal mortality.
The programme focused on improving access to integrated RMNCAH, HIV and gender-based violence services, especially among underserved counties and groups. At the same time, it worked to improve service quality by boosting the capacity of health care workers, and to increase demand by improving community health systems and enhancing citizen engagement. It also aimed to strengthen institutional capacity for planning, budgeting, coordination, supervision, monitoring, and evaluation of services at the county and national level.
