UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, works to protect the rights of refugees, asylum seekers, internally displaced and stateless people. The agency works to ensure that all those who flee violence, persecution war or disaster at home have the right to seek asylum and find refuge, with the option to eventually return home, integrate or resettle. UNHCR also provides emergency assistance in the form of clean water, sanitation, healthcare, shelter, essential supplies and food, arranges transport and assistance for those who return home, and supports income-generating projects for those who resettle.
