Prevention and Protection for Women and Girls Affected by Sexual Violence (Haiti)

The Joint Programme for Prevention and Protection of Girls and Women Victims of Sexual Violence worked to reinforce national capacities to prevent and respond to sexual violence against women and girls in Haiti.

Over the course of the project, women and girls who had survived sexual violence received medical, psychosocial and legal services, while people of either sex received information on what to do in case of sexual violence and were reached with awareness-raising activities.

A joint effort of UNFPA, UNICEF and UN Women, with funding from Canada, the project ran from 2007 to 2009.
