Azerbaijan Humanitarian Emergency

The escalation of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict in September of 2020 has created urgent humanitarian needs in the region. Pregnant and lactating women, gender-based violence survivors, women and girls with disabilities, young people and the elderly are among those particularly affected. UNFPA is responding to people’s sexual and reproductive health needs and is advocating for the prioritization of prevention and response to violence against women and girls, the risk of which has increased due to the conflict, among all humanitarian actors.
