Bosnia and Herzegovina Humanitarian Emergency

Bosnia and Herzegovina serves as a transit country for refugees and migrants. UNFPA's response includes technical support to local authorities on the development of Standard Operating Procedures for gender-based violence (which came into effect in May 2019), and capacity strengthening of humanitarian personnel on the integration of GBV in the humanitarian response. UNFPA also runs three safe spaces for refugee and migrant women and girls, which provide psychosocial support, educational activities and consultations on sexual and reproductive health needs, and provides informal life-skills education through three centres for boys and young men.
