Women and girls in Lebanon face safety risks due to recent hostilities

“Women and girls [in Lebanon] face high levels of exploitation, gender-based violence and other protection risks.”

Their right to health, safety and dignity must be protected.

Women and girls fleeing conflict in South Lebanon are vulnerable in crowded shelters

Women fleeing the escalating conflict in South Lebanon are at increased risk of gender-based violence.

Dominic Allen, UNFPA Arab States Deputy Regional Director, spoke to some of them when he visited a government-supported shelter in Beirut this week which is hosting around 800 people.
