International Consultant: Gender-Based Violence in Emergencies: Technical Writer

Submitted by opal on

As part of the GBV mandate to provide guidance on prevention and response to gender-based violence in emergencies (GBViE), a Task Team was formed to develop global inter-agency minimum standards for a specialized program package to prevent and respond to (GBViE). Consultations revealed a need for a common approach to GBViE as well as a common language for clarity around what constitutes GBV prevention and response. In January 2018, the GBV Core members endorsed the development of Global Minimum Standards for GBV specialized programming.

Project Objective:
Produce and disseminate a resource to align programming to a set of agreed upon Minimum Standards for GBV specialized programming, so that programmes will ultimately support:

Survivors of GBV, safely accessing survivor-centred services
The prioritization of the safety of women and girls
Reducing the risk of GBV faced by persons in situations of vulnerability
